Arturo is considered one of the most worldly cheered performers . The Guinness Book of Records counts him as the fastest quick-change artist we have ever seen before. He is always around the world with his show, performing it both in Shanghai and in Hollywood, both before Queen Elizabeth and President Chirac as well.
Brachetti was born in Turin (13 October 1957). He began to gain knowledge of sleight of hand from an illusionist priest in a seminary . At the age of 15 he created his first quick-change act , at 20 he was a highlight star at Paris’ Paradis Latin. Since 1981 he had been starring all the shows he took part in, as FLIC FLAC in Germany, and Y in London for more than a year. In Italy he was the main performer in shows such as VARIETÀ with Massimo Ranieri, and M. BUTTERFLY with Ugo Tognazzi. He reaped successes in Italy, with the musicals FREGOLI and TECHNICOLOR and the comedies M. BUTTERFLY, I MASSIBILLI and others, as well as on international stages, as The London National Theatre with SQUARE ROUNDS. He appeared as a guest in several TV shows , from Santiago to Singapore , from the Drew Carey Show in Hollywood to Le plus Grand Cabaret du Monde in Paris. In the 90’s he was presenter of THE BEST OF MAGIC twelve episodes for Thames TV, and THE NIGHT OF MAGIC for Disney TV.
Since 2000 he had been performing L’UOMO DAI MILLE VOLTI, a one-man show with 80 characters which had been running for more than 2 years in Paris. This led him to beat every records and win the Molière prize.
As a stage-manager , he directed several shows at the Wintergarten in Berlin and in Italy , especially musical and comic shows such as I CORTI, TEL CHI I TELUN, AMPLAGGHED by Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo. In 2008 he realized GRAN VARIETÀ BRACHETTI, a new variety show by him devised and directed with a big artist company. In autumn 2009 he came back to London scenes at the Garrick Theatre, with a new one-man show, CHANGE. It became a success acclaimed by the critics and obtained the nomination for the prestigious Olivier Award. One of his newest creations as a producer is PIERINO AND THE WOLF, the fairy-tale musical show by Sergej Prokof’ev, with the Italian Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai. Arturo’s interpretation turned it into a magic multimedia edition. It has been performed in April and broadcasted on Italian National TV RAI in Autumn 2010.
In Summer 2010 he has been in tour with his BRACHETTI&FRIENDS, an open-air happening-show rich in impressive tricks , purposely devised, tested with greatest success in the preview presented in Piazza Duomo in Milan for Ambrosian Carnival, with more than 50.000 spectators . There has been the biggest world visual performers , international artists of great talent that Arturo met during his years of international touring around the world. |
